Nowadays, in the society I am living with, evaluation of people is happening everywhere, especially on women. Either consciously or unconsciously, women always judged by their appearances, actions, backgrounds, and so much more. As an Asian girl, either living in eastern or western culture society, I can feel the judgment anywhere and every moment.

 

For this artwork, I want to criticize this wrong action that always happens in today’s society. Based on the standards I created for Asian women, similar as diamond grading, I apply the valuation processes for diamond to valuate a woman. Following the grading procedure, a final reported is created and shows details of a woman. The final value of a woman is based on final colour grade, carat weight, cut grade, and clarity grade. The final report is created as wearable jewellery for woman who owns it to wear. It shows the irony of judgment and unfairness on woman.
