Now You See...?
Living in the information age in which technology is a necessity, she keeps questioning the use of technology advancement and finding the balance between artificial intelligence and reality.
"Now You See...?" was inspired by Norwegian law that influencers must declare retouched images with a ministry-approved label on social media platforms for advertising purposes. Vera intends to reveal the influencers and social media marketing manipulations behind the screen by peeling off the constructions of social media through the progression of six objects. From advanced technology to the manual, by interacting with each object, Vera hopes the audiences could consider reclaiming control of social media from influencers and marketers who portray an idealized lifestyle, rethink the relationship with social media and recognize the potential future risks of technology advancement.
